The word is getting out in Vermont! Friends are lining up to help the Bonfigli family. After all Dan has done to help others, it is no surprise people want to help out. A Benefit Tennis and Ping Pong Social will be held at the Sports and Fitness Edge of Essex on Tuesday, April 24th, from 3 to 9pm. Families with younger children are encouraged to participate between the hours of 3 and 6 pm. Adults and high school students are welcome to stop by between the hours of 6 and 9pm. Those unable to make this event can still make a donation at the front desk. For more information please contact Tammy at 879-7734 x 127, or Courtney at 879-7734 x-123.
Damon Fitch, tournament director of the Sports and Fitness Edge of Burlington, is donating a portion of the proceeds of the Red Martin Doubles Classic set for April 13-15 to support Dan and Kathy's fight against cancer. Red Martin died of cancer and Damon has decided to connect this tournament with doing something locally for cancer support. Great idea, Damon. We all thank you for your efforts on behalf of the Bonfiglis.

Wonderful idea Damon! Hope the tournament is a big success. Dan and family - my thoughts are with you as you start your recovery in Sarasota - I have a good feeling about success! Dan is so positive, and that always seems to help. I know Dan through the Jeff Stone Tournament committee and plan to forward this blog address to the whole committee - I know that everyone wishes all the best to Dan and will want to help.
Thinking of you, Lori Brown
Debbie-
The Nordic Soccer Club which Gabby is a member is very interested in holding a 5k run in support of the Bonfigli family. The 5k run would be held in the next couple of weeks out at the Essex's Tree Farm & the participation fee would be a minimum of $5, or perhaps have nordic members obtain sponsor/pledge sheets & each member that is running the 5k would be responsible to obtain a minimum of 10 pledges. Before proceeding with the idea I would like to be sure that this is something reasonable within the privacy/wishes of the Bonfigli family. Thanks- Many well wishing Nordic Soccer Coaches
Kerry D- Thank you for your post. Please check with Kathy at kbonfigli@comcast.net. Sounds great to me. Please pass the blog address around! -Debbie
Hello Dan's friends and family,
I sent this email below directly to Nelly and she asked that I post it here as well...
Sincerely,
Lisa
Hello,
You don't know me but I wanted to write to tell you that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
We moved here in January 2006 and our daughter Lexi (who is now 9) began taking lessons from Dan. She had been taking tennis since she was 3 and she planned to quit because she did not want a new teacher. It was a difficult move. In a very short time Dan made a significant impact on Lexi's life and both challenged and inspired her. Lexi is a great child but a bit complicated and Dan's role in
her life has been very important.
A few months after we were living here we bought one of your paintings which we love and it seems very special to have it in our home.
You raised a remarkable man.
Sincerely,
Lisa
Damon sent word that the tournament raised $650. In addition to half of the proceeds, several people gave donations. Thank you Damon for giving to our family in this time of need.
